In general, booking 3 months ahead will secure your date. Marc requires a 50% deposit to hold a date and the deposit becomes non-refundable 30-45 days prior to the event. Final Payment, the remaining 50%, is due the day of reception. Please don't forget. You will receive a written contract outlining all terms.
For all performances Mark will conference with you and your loved ones to plan out your special occasion.
Weddings are a once in a life time event involving a life time of planning and dreaming. The bride is the boss, unless otherwise noted.
Wedding Reception: A typical wedding reception with Mark and the Rocks may consist of the following elements:
- Set up: The band will be set at least one hour prior to your guest’s arrival.
- MC: Mark will coordinate with all other wedding professionals on site – from the food servers to the photographer to the wedding planner, and of course the bride and groom.
- A cocktail hour may begin a reception. Generally cocktail music will be with no vocals, just instrumental, this is your choice. Various musicians/DJ are available.
- Grand Entrance: With Live Band or while DJ'n, Mark will introduce the Wedding Party to guests.
- During dinner Mark and the Rocks will start singing a selection of light music.
- Toast, Roasts, and Speeches may be best timed while guests are still sitting just after dinner (before uncle Bob has had too much to drink). Mark will provide a handheld microphone just for you and your speakers.
- Special Song: Mark an the Rocks will learn, and perform, one special song for your event, typically your wedding song. Mark and the Rocks needs 30 days notice on what song and version or can not guarantee a live performance of the song.
- Dances: Father of Bride and Bride dance, Mother of Groom and Groom dance, Grandparent of _____ and ____ dance. If you have any special dances for special people Marc will announce and provide music.
- The Anniversary Dance is a fun way to have the married couples participate at your reception.
- Bouquet and Garter Toss involves all single guests at the reception.
- Cutting the Cake is suggested to take place an hour or so after dinner so that some guests will stay longer, but not too late for those with early bed times.
- Money Dance - Please decide if this dance is OK for all your family members prior to the reception. It is tradition by some, avoided by others, and a point of argument not needed during a wedding reception.
- Miscellaneous Activities: Any activity you wish Mark to MC during the night is fine, it just needs to be discussed prior to the event day.
- Dancing: Let the dancing begin!! Mark and the Rocks kick into their dance sets. During band breaks Mark goes into DJ mode. Dance sets feature proven songs all ages can dance to. If there are particular songs you want the band to play, let Mark know. If there are songs you wish to be DJ’d, send Mark a list prior to the day of the event. Most likely the songs are within the 10,000 MP3's loaded into his laptop.
- Grand Exit of Bride and Groom -- However you wish; this is your dream day. |
